A Note on Privacy
Here’s what the game keeps, and what other captains can see.
Your Saved Game
Your browser keeps a session cookie so the game server can recognize your player card. Your sound preference is saved in browser storage. The cookie is needed to reconnect to your guest seat and scores.
The game server keeps player names, preferences, room state, and results in a database on our separate Render service in the United States. Render provides hosting and persistent storage. Encrypted offsite backups and payments are not connected yet.
Accounts & Crew
If you use the account or friend features, the server also stores the account information you enter, verification records, friend relationships, blocks, and game invitations needed for those features. When email sign-in is available, our mail provider delivers a four-digit code to your address. Codes expire after 20 minutes and are never shown to other players.
Other people in your room can see your player name, game status, and public match results. An opponent’s undiscovered boat positions are hidden during play. Email addresses and sign-in codes are not shown to opponents.
Share room links only with the people you want to invite. A room link is an invitation to try joining; it is not a password for your account.
No Extra Passengers
This build includes no advertising trackers, third-party analytics scripts, or fingerprinting. Fonts, artwork, and game scripts are served with the app. Sound is synthesized on your device; it does not use your microphone.
If you email support, your message is handled by the email services used to deliver and receive it. Include only the information needed to explain the issue.
Your Choices
You can switch sound off at any time. Clearing browser cookies removes this browser’s session access; it does not delete records already stored by the game server. Without a working recovery method, that can leave guest scores inaccessible.
Player records remain on the game server until removed. There is no configured automatic retention schedule. Open My Player Card to export your data or delete your card. Deletion removes the active profile, scores, friends, and invitations; game names are redacted. Private local snapshots may retain older records until their 30-day retention expires. Standings are optional and show your name only after you opt in. For help, contact support. Please don’t send a sign-in code or session cookie.
